First, wear protective clothing, including gloves, eye protectors, or safety glasses. Then, disconnect the battery charger from the electrical outlet.

Larger starting lead-acid batteries found in larger lawn mowers and tractors may start the car’s engine, although they are not intended for such use – it all depends on the battery size, its condition, CCA and the size and type of the car’s engine.
What The Volts And Ah Numbers Mean On Cordless Mowers
Basically volts is the raw power produced by the battery and Ah is code for how long the battery will run. Thats not exactly correct but its a good rule of thumb.
Generally speaking a 2.5 Ah battery will run half as long as a 5 Ah battery and an 80-volt battery will have twice the potential strength of a 40-volt battery.

Most riding lawn mower batteries are group U1 batteries they are about 8.3 inches long, 5.1 inches wide and 7.25 inches high. There are two types of these batteries, differentiated by the position of their positive terminals. U1 batteries have their positive terminals on the left, and U1R batteries have their positive terminals on the right. The difference is significant because the length of a mower’s battery cables can prevent a battery with the incorrect terminal position from fitting. Always check the terminal position of your old battery before you buy a replacement.
