If you dont like the idea of using chemical herbicide on your lawn then here are some natural methods you can try:
Pulling Weeds By Hand
Sometimes, the traditional way is the best. If you only have 1 or 2 plants to remove, then weeding by hand is usually quick and effective.
Use a trowel to dig down around the plant and remove it from the ground. Make sure you take the roots as well.
If you want to make the job easier, you can use a weed puller. This tool allows you to stand as you pull the weeds out of the ground.
The main drawback of removing them by hand is that it takes a lot of hard work if you have a lawn full of weeds.
And because some lawn weeds grow back quickly if you leave any of the root system behind, it can be difficult to completely get rid of them without taking great care.
A common problem weed thats very difficult to control by hand once its well established in your yard is nutsedge.
Vinegar
Another natural method that people often recommend is vinegar. This burns the weed on contact, killing every part it touches. Pour it into a handheld sprayer and then apply it to all visible parts of the plant.
Youll have to use a strong acetic acid solution of somewhere between 10-20% concentration. Normal table vinegar isnt usually powerful enough for the job.

Does Salt Water Kill Weeds

If you mix it with water, you create an effective natural herbicide. However, salt is toxic for all plants, so it can easily kill other plants and grass around your weeds which is why we recommend you be extremely careful when using saltwater.
Make A Vinegar Weed Killer At Home With Dish Soap And Salt
If you do not have any extra vodka lying around, or you simply do not want to part with it, you can also whip up a vinegar weed killer using vinegar, dish soap and salt. You have two options here: You can fill your spray bottle with vinegar and add a few drops of natural dish soap and a pinch of salt, or you can fill your spray bottle with vinegar, add the dish soap and skip the salt. Which one you choose really just depends on your future plans for the area of your yard that is currently covered in weeds. Either of these homemade herbicides will kill the weeds, but if you choose the salt option, it will also most likely make the soil unamenable to growing desirable plants in that area for at least a few months.

How To Get Rid Of Weeds Naturally
One of my least favorite parts about gardening is dealing with weeds! It seems like new ones pop up every day in my lawn and in our vegetable garden, and Im hesitant to spray commercial weed killers.
