Its the go to post emergent in my 3 product lawn care plan. It kills clover and other broad leaf weeds as well as some undesirable grasses such as crabgrass.

2.Ortho Weed B Gone Chickweed, Clover, Oxalis Kiler This is another Weed B Gone product that has different active ingredients which are more specific in targeting clover. If clover is your main problem and you dont have many other broad leaf weeds then this product is a great choice. It is sold as a concentrate so will require mixing with a tank sprayer.

3.Tenacity Tenacity is a concentrate that works a little differently then the other post-emergents. Rather then poisoning the plant, it works by blocking photosynthesis. With Tenacity, it might take 7-10 days before you begin to see whitening of the plant. Eventually it will look like your treated weeds are bleached.

Also note that you might see some temporary whitening of the desirable grasses but they will ultimately green back up.

Why Is Moss Taking Over My Lawn

If moss is taking over your lawn it suggests to me that your lawn is not in the best condition for growing vibrant lush green grass. Moss will thrive in completely conditions to those that make grass thrive so if moss is taking over your lawn you may have to take action to alter, maybe severely alter, the condition of your lawn.

Some of the conditions that may be the cause of moss taking over your lawn could be that:

    • The pH of your soil is not ideal for grass
    • Your soil may not be draining properly and moss likes the damp
    • The soil may be compacted which leads to poor air circulation and drainage
    • Your lawn may be getting too much shade

You will be glad to know that you will be able to take action and sort most of these issues however if you think its just a case of applying herbicide and your moss problem will be solved you are mistaken.

If you want to permanently stop moss growing on your lawn you have to change the condition of your soil under the grass otherwise when you use herbicide to remove moss it will simply grow back over time.

The Types Of Clovers You Can See Growing In Your Garden

White or Dutch cloverThis type of clover is the most popular and can grow in almost any type of soil. The tiny plant can be found most commonly growing in medium to heavy alkaline soils. The dutch clover has longer stems and forms little white flowers that shape a ball.

We advise you to restrain yourself from cutting the grass in your garden lower in order to remove the yellow trefoil. The method can do more harm than good because it can weaken the tuft, even more, especially on poor soils.

How To Get Rid Of Clover In Lawn Without Chemicals

After knowing the sources of clover, the question is how to get rid of clover in lawn naturally. So, here are some of the best way to kill clover in lawn:

    1. Add nitrogen

It is preferable to use a regular quick-release nitrogen fertilizer for more extensive and more established clover patches. It will quickly absorb nitrogen and have a higher chance of eliminating clover. The turf will become more flexible, while the clover will begin to diminish.

Clover requires low nitrogen levels to thrive, so search for a weed and feed product with higher nitrogen levels than other fertilizers.

    2. Vinegar-Dish Soap Solution for Clover

Clover can be killed with vinegar as well. A general herbicide can be easily made at home using vinegar and soap. For that,

  • In a 1:1 ratio, combine white vinegar and water.
  • Dish soap
  • In a spray bottle, shake it up.
  • To eliminate the clover, youâll most likely need to apply the remedy over several weeks. Use the mixture just on clover, as it will harm other plants, including grass if it gets anywhere else. The vinegar dries out the leaves, while the dish soap binds the acid to the leafâs surface. The plants will eventually leave to the environment.

    3. Getting Rid of Clover with Cornmeal Gluten

Corn gluten meal is also a well-known natural alternative to weed-killing pre-emergent herbicides. Aside from the clover, if you want to get rid of weed also, this strategy has the advantage of not affecting the growth of any other plants.
