I Have Used Lawn Doctor For Over A Year
I have used lawn doctor for over a year now and finally canceled this service since my lawn looks worse than when we started. They said after several treatments that several of the patches of weeds would dissipate and we would have a nice lawn. They charge quite a bit for no results. The one thing they are good at is showing up every quarter to quickly spray your yard, give you the bill and drive off. Used them years ago and they were great. Not anymore. I will find someone else or do it myself.

Lawn Doctor Does Not Give Their Customers Respect
We have been Lawn Doctor customers for many years and have finally realized that we need to find another company, rather than accepting the poor service we have been getting. We prepay for the entire year and yet we cannot get service at the time we request, which is mornings only. It is obvious that Lawn Doctor does not care about customer satisfaction. They do not do the best job as far as keeping the lawn green, but our climate is high desert. If you ask a technician a question about the condition of the grass you get a blank stare. They call to tell you when they have scheduled a treatment. You call them back and say please come in the morning only and they totally ignore your wishes. It is beyond rude and the service is expensive, so this is not satisfactory.

How Much Does Lawn Care Cost Per Month
Lawn care costs will depend on the size of the lawn, the geographical location, the condition of the plants and grass and the types of flora present. Where the cost of living is higher and certain species of grass are more difficult to grow, a lawn will cost more to maintain. A larger lawn will cost more than a smaller lawn.
If you want to save money, companies such as TruGreen and Lawn Doctor offer packages that combine a number of services and lower the cost per service. However, you will need to check with the individual companies to see what those bundles will cost for your specific yard.

The Cost Of Diy Lawn Care Vs Trugreen
Detail/Math/Knowledge Level: Medium
- Im not picking on TruGreen. I am using them because everyone knows the name, and they are transparent with their pricing online too. Thats it. Dont take it personally TG, I love all of the things you taught me when I hired and trained dominant sales teams for you. And kudos for offering transparent pricing online. Seriously.
- Im not saying TruGreen is bad. They serve a purpose but they are essentially my competition if you think about it. I want more homeowners to DIY so I can grow my audience. So in that vein, I am trying to take market share from them.
- My primary goal, however, is to educate. In the end, some folks that read this may find they prefer to have a company like TG do their lawn, great.
Recently Im seeing some folks say their DIY lawn care is becoming expensive. More expensive than when they had a company like TruGreen on retainer. This is an interesting perception and one I want to address.
Lets look at the context. The primary reason DIY seems so expensive, and sometimes hiring TG doesnt, is that with TG, they come out and spray only the exact amount of product needed that day and that is essentially all you pay for. They shoulder the cost of buying in bulk and storing it, and you only pay for the amount of chemical used for your application – no more, no less.

The average cost of lawn care per acre ranges from $60 to $2,000 and up. What youll pay depends on factors like the services you purchase, the size of your property, and regional costs. For example, if you live near a large city and need to fertilize an acre, you can expect to pay significantly more than if you live in a suburban or rural area and need mowing services for your property.

The Customer Service Was Terrible
I hired The Lawn Doctor to treat and maintain my lawn, but they didn’t do that. I told them numerous times that my lawn was yellowing all over and something was wrong with it and they kept telling me my lawn was fine when in fact it wasn’t. I had another company come out and look at it and the technician told me that my whole yard has fungus. I hired that company on the spot and fired The Lawn Doctor. The new company has been around for more than 50 years. They weren’t even treating my grass for weeds and I was paying them to do so. Customers do yourselves a favor and don’t hire The Lawn Doctor unless you want to go through what I went through. I could have lost my whole lawn because of them. I won’t recommend them to anyone.

Tree Pruning Or Trimming
Dont neglect the trees on your property. Its essential that you have them pruned every winter so that you wont end up with any dying branches.
This is a safety issue, and it will also encourage green growth when the spring arrives.
Beyond this, trees that are limbed-up and pruned allow more light to get to your lawn, which will improve the health and thickness of your lawn. It also just makes your property look better.
On average, homeowners with trees on their properties spend between about $292 and $638 to have tree branches pruned and to get their trees limbed up.
Beyond this number from my lawn care pricing chart, the exact price youll pay depends on the number of trees they have and the size of the trees.

How Often Do You Want To Have Your Lawn Mowed
There are some instances in which a homeowner only wants to have their lawn mowed every once in a while. They might call on a lawn care service to cut their lawn when theyre away on vacation or when theyve had a long week at work and dont have time to mow.
When this is the case, most lawn care services will extend one price to their customers. But when customers agree to have their lawn mowed by a service on a regular basis throughout the spring and summer seasons, theyll often get access to a differentsee: lowerprice.
Lawn care services are open to charging their regular customers less than their one-time customers to show their appreciation to them. Theyre also able to get into a routine when cutting these lawns so that they take them less time overall.
You might be able to score a great deal on grass cutting services by scheduling regular mows as opposed to only scheduling them every so often.
Lawn Fertilizer Costs By Brand

Should I Fertilize My Lawn Before Or After Rain
Fertilize your lawn after it rains, not before. If it rains, or you water immediately, itll create runoff where the chemicals go deeper into the soil and end up in streams or drains and not feeding your grass. This not only wastes money, time, and product, but could lead to environmental impacts on your local water supply.
