Lawn Mowing Cost Per Week

Regular lawn mowing once a week will run you an average of $30 to $80 per visit. Weekly costs are generally calculated based on the property size and type of work being done. Weekly mowing service is the most common contract option, especially during peak growing season, normally the spring and summer. This is because your lawn will grow faster, and the watering, sunshine, and fertilizer continue to nourish it.

Average Lawn Care Cost

Lawn care pricing varies depending on what services and treatments you add. Some lawn care plans have a starting cost of just $25 per month. The average lawn care cost is around $100$200 per month. Services in the price might include lawn mowing services or weed control. Additional services may include a one-time payment in addition to this cost, such as lawn aeration for $250.

Overall, you save money by opting for DIY options like product subscription services like Lawn Bright. Still, the cost of having a lawn care professional treat your yard often yields better results for a more extended period.

Annual Yard Work Prices

How Much Is Lawn Doctor

In general, the yearly cost ranges from $700 to $2,600. What youll pay changes based on where you live and the size of your property. For example, if you live in a temperate or cold climate, you probably dont need a pro to come by from November through March. This cuts down dramatically on the overall cost. If you live in a warm climate that needs frequent maintenance with no breaks throughout the year, youll pay more.

How Often Do You Want To Have Your Lawn Mowed

There are some instances in which a homeowner only wants to have their lawn mowed every once in a while. They might call on a lawn care service to cut their lawn when theyre away on vacation or when theyve had a long week at work and dont have time to mow.

When this is the case, most lawn care services will extend one price to their customers. But when customers agree to have their lawn mowed by a service on a regular basis throughout the spring and summer seasons, theyll often get access to a differentsee: lowerprice.

Lawn care services are open to charging their regular customers less than their one-time customers to show their appreciation to them. Theyre also able to get into a routine when cutting these lawns so that they take them less time overall.

You might be able to score a great deal on grass cutting services by scheduling regular mows as opposed to only scheduling them every so often.

Cost Of Fertilizing Your Lawn

Your lawn needs the proper nutrients to look its best and your soil does not always have enough nutrients. This is where fertilizer comes in. Fertilizing your lawn is the best way to improve the health and appearance of your lawn.Fertilizers contain the necessary minerals and nutrients that your grass needs to grow to its full potential. But it is important to note that different types of grass require different fertilizers.

  • The minimum cost for lawn fertilizer is $0.08/sf
  • The maximum cost for lawn fertilizer is $0.48/sf

If you do not have the time or the tools to fertilize your lawn on your own, you can hire a contractor to do the job. If you hire a contractor, the cost of fertilizing your lawn is about $12-$15/hr. You can also hire a lawn care expert or professional lawn care company, which will bring your lawn fertilizing cost up to about $60 per hour, on average. The more experience someone has, the more it will cost. That said, if you go with an expert you will do the least amount of work and you will likely get the best results.

How Often Should You Mow Your Lawn

The frequency of mowing your lawn depends on the weather in your area, the season, and your personal preference. During the prime growing season, you will most likely want to mow your yard weekly, though you may stretch that to ten days if you live in a hot area with lots of sun and prefer longer grass to protect the roots from the heat. Preseason and the end of the growing season see slower growth, so bi-weekly mowing will likely be sufficient.

Choose How To Structure Your Business

Lawn Care Pricing Increase – Why, When, How, Who and How Much

Youll need to choose how you want your business structured. There are four main types:

  • Sole proprietorship: a business run by a single individual
  • Partnership: An agreement between two or more persons who run the business together
  • Limited liability company: a hybrid of partnership and corporation
  • Corporation: a group of people authorized to act as a single entity

Sole Proprietorships

If youre just starting out, youll probably want to be a sole proprietorship. Most small businesses are sole proprietorships because this is the easiest and cheapest way to start a business.

In a sole proprietorship, you and the business are one and the same. A sole proprietorship is unique among business entities because its the only one that doesnt have to register with a state.

Starting one is easy.

All you have to do is:

  • Come up with a name for your lawn company and decide where you want to be located
  • File for a business license with city hall
  • Set up a business checking account so theres a separation between your business and personal cash

If you plan to sell taxable things, youll need to register with your local taxing authority.

Sole proprietorship advantages include:

  • Easy startupno complicated business structure
  • Controlsince youre the only owner, youll have total power over every aspect of your company
  • Use of lossesbecause youre including your business income and losses on your personal tax return, you can use them to offset personal income

Diy Vs Professional Lawn Care

When shopping for lawn care service providers, consider whether you want do-it-yourself or professional lawn care. DIY lawn care is more affordable, but a professional lawn care provider could be a better option, depending on your landscaping needs. Below is a breakdown of both services.

  • DIY Lawn Care: Do-it-yourself lawn care is exactly what it sounds like. Typically, the brand will conduct a lawn analysis and send a package of products recommended for your lawn care needs. You then apply the treatments and handle any required watering and lawn mowing yourself.
  • Professional Lawn Care: A professional lawn care service is all-inclusive. A professional will analyze your property, create a routine treatment plan and then visit your property according to that plan. This service typically includes mowing, watering and tree services.
  • Combination Lawn Care: Professional lawn care services also offer combination plans. These allow you to have professionals perform complex services such as lawn aeration or tree services but handle more standard tasks, such as mowing and leaf removal, yourself.

Tree Pruning Or Trimming

Dont neglect the trees on your property. Its essential that you have them pruned every winter so that you wont end up with any dying branches.

This is a safety issue, and it will also encourage green growth when the spring arrives.

Beyond this, trees that are limbed-up and pruned allow more light to get to your lawn, which will improve the health and thickness of your lawn. It also just makes your property look better.

On average, homeowners with trees on their properties spend between about $292 and $638 to have tree branches pruned and to get their trees limbed up.

Beyond this number from my lawn care pricing chart, the exact price youll pay depends on the number of trees they have and the size of the trees.

What Others Say About Lawn Doctor

Many individual Lawn Doctor franchises have pages with the Better Business Bureau. There are a wide range of profiles, with some stating accreditation and an A+ rating, while others are not accredited and have an F rating. Reviews range from highly positive to highly negative, depending on the particular location.

I purchased a home in Virginia Beach, with a yard full of weeds. After a few years of fighting the weeds and losing, I decided to try a local lawn service. After reviewing a few companies I decided to give Lawn Doctor a try. In a matter of just four months my lawn is 100 times better, keep in mind I started my services in the spring. Every visit the technician explains exactly what he is spraying and what changes I can expect to see in my yard. No hassle or upsale for extra services If you expect professional service from a friendly, honest company, call Lawn Doctor. Eric

This company is a scam. Their products do not kill weeds. The representative is disrespectful and always puts blame on clients. I paid good money and got no results. My neighbors asked about their service, and I categorically replied to never use them. Ira R.

Bad Experience With Lawn Doctormontgomery County Md

I had a bad experience with Lawn Doctor . I started with them because an ad stated 50% off first treatment, but when service started I prepaid the full year of treatments. After realizing this I notified them and they said they could send a refund or put credit on account, I erroneously said put on account. After 3 treatments I was not satisfied with services and requested to stop and have all amounts prepaid refunded. They refunded my remaining 3 treatments but not the 50% off the first treatment, later saying the 50% off is for last treatment, not at all what there ad states!! Needless to say the total satisfaction guarantee was also ignored, where full satisfaction is guaranteed, nope, they said that is up to local franchise. STAY AWAY, they do not live up to their advertising!!
