Toro mowers are made in the United States. These mowers are assembled in plants distributed across El Paso in Texas, Windom and Shakopee in Minnesota, Plymouth in Wisconsin, El Cajon in California, and Sanford in Florida.

Toro has been around for a long time, founded far back in 1914. Toro, as a name, reflects this manufacturers long-standing partnership with The Bull Tractor Company.

During its early days, Toro tended to focus on golf machines. It was not until 1924 that Toro produced its first mower, the renowned Park Special. By 1948, Toro would delve into the rotary lawnmower market by acquiring the Whirlwind Company of Milwaukee in Wisconsin.

Still, on the strategy of consolidating its position in the landscaping space via acquisitions, in 1997, Toro bought Exmark Manufacturing in Beatrice in Nebraska. Today, Toro mowers are a force to reckon with.

Walk Behind Lawn Mower Snapper

When it comes to walk behind lawn mowers, the Snapper brand lawn mower has long been synonymous with the word quality.

Soon after World War II, a businessman from Georgia named William R. Smith recognized that with the growth of post war suburban America, there would come an ever increasing need for lawn care equipment.

In 1951, William purchased a patent for a rotary blade mower and soon after the very first Snapper lawn mower was born.

Within a month, Snapper had produced almost 4,000 mowers to meet the increasing demand of suburban America.

The original Snapper featured a covered engine and cutting blades that made the mower much safer and easier to operate.

The Snapper brand took off quickly due to its innovative safety features and extreme commitment to quality. William was a firm believer that people would be willing to spend a little more for a quality product.

Snapper filed 50 patents to improve lawn mower design.

In 1954, operations were moved into a large scale manufacturing plant in Mcdonough Georgia, where they started making riding lawn mowers also.

Snapper expanded quickly and were acquired by, or merged with several companies in the 50s, 60s, 90s and early 2000s.

In 2004, another great American company, Briggs & Stratton, purchased the Snapper brand and still manufactures Snapper brand products right here in America.

Is Made In The Usa The Same As Built In The Usa

In 2017 the FTC ruled that Built in the USA and Made in the USA were, in its eyes, the same thing. This issue came up because consumers were complaining that some companies were claiming their products were Built in the USA when in fact they were simply assembled here from parts made overseas. As a result of the 2017 ruling, a company can no longer claim their mowers are Built in the USA unless they meet the FTCs standards for Made in the USA .

Where Are Ego Mowers Made

The mighty Chevron conglomerate purportedly backs the EGO brand. However, EGO mowers are majorly manufactured in China.

Relatively, we can say EGO made a late entry into the lawnmower industry, with the company only starting operation in 1993. Having said that the bulk of the mower manufacturing is done in China, it is essential to state that EGO has operational locations diffused across Illinois and Michigan. More specifically, such locations are more inclined toward testing, research, and development functionalities.

The EGO POWER+, which was unveiled in 2012, allowed Ego to make a grand entry into the outdoor power equipment industry.

# 4 Husqvarna 185 Hp Yth Lawn Mower

Husqvarna rocks because they also have excellent customer support!

When I was writing this article I sent an email to their service desk to ask if their lawnmowers undergo manufacturing in the USA.

Anyway, I sent the email in the middle of the night.

I received a reply a few minutes later from a friendly support expert who told me that Husqvarna lawnmowers come from Orangeburg, South Carolina, USA.

Awesome!

Thats why I rank this Husqvarna YTH near the top of my list when it comes to getting an American-made specialty mower without going broke!

Husqvarna YTH Riding Mower Features:

  • Briggs and Stratton 18.5 HP engine

Husqvarna Automower 430x Robotic Lawn Mower

Robot lawnmowers are a relatively recent entry into the market. They work through a wired boundary, allowing the mower to trim the grass without human involvement, even on slopes. Husqvarna invented this category, and its robotic mower is ideal for medium to large lawns up to 0.8 acres in size.

With built-in Bluetooth and cellular connectivity and voice control compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, I appreciated how simple it was to use the app to easily start, stop, and park the machine remotely and set up a mowing plan and monitor its progress.

Using the app, you can also quickly and easily adjust the cutting height.

GPS monitors the mowers location and delivers alerts and notifications to your linked devices to deter theft.

Three razor-sharp rotating blades cut neatly in all directions, even in the rain, and operate similarly to a mulching mower clippings are never collected. The weather timer guarantees that the mower cuts more often during periods of rapid grass growth and less frequently during periods of slower growth.

When it becomes weary, I like that it understands how to return to the charging station. It is capable of functioning in the dark due to its LED lighting and ultra-quiet operation.

The next year, he rolled out a 1,378-square-foot shop in Grand Detour in 1837, quickly gaining a reputation as the go-to repairman.

John Deere Brand History

CUB CADET 3185 HEAVY DUTY 3000 SERIES GARDEN TRACTOR MADE ...

It all started with a steel plow. In 1836, John Deere, a then-unknown blacksmith, moved from his hometown of Rutland, Vermont, to Grand Detour, Illinois, to escape bankruptcy. Deere set up his shop in the small town, where he began serving as a general repairman and manufacturing farming equipment such as pitchforks and shovels.

Barely a year after setting foot in Grand Detour, John invented the self-scouring steel plow. It became an instant commercial success and incredibly popular with farmers who worked heavy soil on the prairies. Before John’s invention, the farmers had to regularly clean off the rich prairie soil that constantly stuck to their cast-iron plows, a problem the steel plow solved completely.

Following this success, John Deere became a dedicated plow manufacturer. By 1941, he was making 75 plows a year. And in 1841, he built his first factory in Moline, Illinois. In 1863, the company invented the horse-powered ride-on plow, popularly known as the Hawkeye Riding Cultivator.

It wasn’t until 1918 that the John Deere company built its first tractors. The company had acquired the Waterloo Gas Engine Company, the makers of the Waterloo Boy tractor, to set the transition in motion. Surprisingly, they made and sold 5,634 tractors in their first year of production.

  • Diesel engines.
